Road Blog Spring 2010

This blog is an account of our trials and adventures in America. It had long been our plan to tour the United States. We have caravanned in the UK for many years so it seemed obvious to buy a caravan in the US. Now we had retired we wanted to take our time, not just a few weeks at a time, as we had done before. Sally has CFS/M.E. and we need to plan travelling very carefully. We do not want to travel much more than a couple of hours a day, with plenty of days off. How best to accomplish this? After much thought we have bought our own car and Travel Trailer and keep it in the U.S. We accomplished this on our first trip. We now own a 31ft Travel Trailer and 15 seat passenger van, which are currently stored in Florida. Our Second Trip saw us touring round Central and Northern Florida. We spent a lot more time visiting Bluegrass and Folk Fesitvals. Our Third Trip was to the Northern part of Forida and the Panhandle. Our Fourth Trip took us North through Central Georgia to the Blue Ridge Mountains, through North and South Carolina and back to Florida along the coast. Our Fifth Trip took us from Florida through Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee, where we left the rig. During Fall 2009, on our Sixth Trip we explored the Bluegrass States and then headed South down the Natchez Trail to New Orleans, before ending up back in Florida.
This blog will enable our friends and relatives to keep up with us, as well as providing a record of our travels.
